Serene Air Chartered Flights from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan

Serene Air, a private airline in Pakistan that commenced its operations in 2017 recently entered the International travel market. The airline also successfully transported medical supplies between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China.

The airline will operate two chartered flights in mid-July between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan according to the sources.

Future Plans & fleet expansion:

Serene Air currently operates a fleet of Boeing 737-800NG aircraft which covered major domestic sectors within Pakistan. Also, the airline a few months back shared the news that they will be leasing more aircraft. These will include 2 Airbus A330s and Boeing 737-800NGs. The delivery date of these aircraft is yet unknown.

The news to add the widebody Airbus A330 aircraft to the fleet was a hint that Airline will soon enter the international travel market and start flights to destinations like UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Chartered flights from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan:

The CAA permitted the airline to operate two chartered flights to Saudi Arabia between Riyadh, Jeddah, and Karachi which will help to bring around 400 passengers.

The permission to start these chartered flights was given to the airline by the PCAA after approval from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) of Saudi Arabia for the transportation of passengers. According to the sources these flights will operate on the 11th and 15th of July. PCAA also notified the airline to strictly follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) imposed by the Government on the airlines.

The government of Pakistan also announced that Pakistani passengers coming to the country on these repatriation flights would not have to undergo COVID-19 tests if they do not show any symptoms. Source: Gulf News

First Chartered Flight from UAE:

Serene Air also operated its first chartered flight ER7002 from Sharjah to Karachi on the 3rd of July which brought 122 passengers back home.

Furthermore, flight operations were suspended earlier due to the ongoing situation of coronavirus which hindered the travel plans of people to return back home. These flights are a sign of relief for people. Read more: here

The Middle East is the largest market for passenger flow to Pakistan followed by the Asia Pacific and Europe. Middle Eastern passenger flow is 51% as per IATA.
